PCCW, CTM implement Hong Kong-Macau VoLTE service

20 Apr 2017

The mobile division of Hong Kong-based integrated telecoms operator HKT – part of the PCCW Group – has jointly launched the first service offering international end-to-end voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) and video-over-LTE roaming/calling services between Hong Kong and Macau in partnership with Macanese operator CTM. TelecomAsia reports that the new service is being made available to customers of HKT’s main mobile brands – csl and 1O1O – and CTM ‘at no extra charge’, by utilising sister company PCCW Global’s high-speed IP connection between the two markets.

CTM and csl previously teamed up to launch the Call Macau Home Pass voice, data, SMS and video call roaming service last year, with a monthly fee of HKD138 (USD17.75) or a daily fee of HKD38.
