BTC signs up 5,000 users to FTTH

16 Mar 2017

Bahamian fixed line incumbent the Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) has signed up more than 5,000 subscribers to its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) and Flow TV services, the operator announced in a press release this week. The two services are available to residents in eastern New Providence, although the operator notes that it is currently rolling out FTTH in Crooked Island, Long Island and Cat Island. Commenting on the popularity of the offering, BTC’s VP for the Family Islands was quoted as saying: ‘The revolutionary FTTH service completely changes the game for BTC. We have moved light years ahead with this new advancement and customers can get up to 1GB or more of data. This new platform gives our residential customers more access to smart home technology. As the leading provider of communications services, we continue to evolve and expand our network to keep our customers up to date with current trends and advancements. One of the new value added services customers can get with BTC’s FTTH solution is FLOW TV.’
