Norwegian-owned cellco Telenor Myanmar has extended its LTE network to six new cities, bringing the total number of locations served by the high-speed network to 17. Over the course of this week, the operator has launched LTE services in the following cities: Taungdwingyi, Aunglan and Pakokku in Magway region; Monywa in Sagaing Region; and Lewe and Pyinmana in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory. In addition to promoting its new services by replacing old SIM cards with free 4G SIMs, showcasing the capabilities of the new technology and assisting new users, Telenor also used the launch events to encourage existing subscribers to register their SIM before the deadline for the scheme in two months.
