Visabeira sells controlling stake in Fibroglobal

Portuguese conglomerate Grupo Visabeira has reportedly sold its 95% stake in Fibroglobal, a fibre-optic wholesale company formed in 2010 alongside minority shareholder PT Portugal (MEO). According to Jornal de Negocios, neither Visabeira nor PT Portugal has been willing to divulge the identity of the buyer.

The Fibroglobal open-access fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) networks currently cover 59 municipalities in the Central Zone (42) and on the islands of Madeira (five) and the Azores (twelve).
