Polish telcos Orange and T-Mobile have agreed to expand their existing infrastructure sharing partnership to incorporate 800MHz and 2600MHz frequencies. The pair set up a 50:50 venture under the name ‘NetWorkS!’ in July 2011, initially solely for 900MHz 3G services, but in September 2013 the deal was amended to include 1800MHz 4G infrastructure. The latest expansion will see the two operators sharing base stations which use the 800MHz and 2600MHz spectrum they each won at auction in October 2015. Orange says its 4G LTE networks currently reach 98.2% of Poland’s population, while for T-Mobile the figure stands at 98.5%.
