EQT Infrastructure to acquire DELTA Comfort

7 Dec 2016

Swedish investment company EQT Infrastructure has announced that it will acquire Dutch telecom infrastructure and energy supplier DELTA Comfort from utility company DELTA for EUR488 million (USD524 million). The deal will cover the Zeeland region of the country, where DELTA Comfort provides a range of multimedia services (broadband, TV, telephony) as well as supplying over 140,000 households and businesses with energy. DELTA Comfort’s 6,000km HFC network covers 192,000 homes across the Zeeland province. With the acquisition the plan is to further expand DELTA Comfort’s multi-utility approach, with EQT Infrastructure investing in its network to improve the quality of service to DELTA Comfort customers. A new board of directors will be set up as part of the growth strategy.

Harko Buringh, CEO of DELTA Comfort stated: ‘We are excited to join EQT Infrastructure, one of the world’s most respected infrastructure funds, with a strong heritage in the telecom sector. They have a growth focused strategy, a responsible and hands-on ownership approach and will provide us with access to an extensive network of industry specialists.’
