InterCEL and CBNL build wireless broadband network

17 Nov 2016

Expresso Telecoms Group subsidiary InterCEL has formed a partnership with CBNL to build a high-capacity wireless broadband network from the Africa Coast to Europe (ACE) submarine fibre system to major business and urban areas of Guinea. In conjunction with CBNL’s VectaStar PMP solution, InterCEL has already rolled out phase one of its new network plan in the capital city Conakry, offering a tenfold increase in bandwidth. In the next phases of deployment InterCEL will extend its service to major urban areas along the coast and further inland to previously under-served mining regions of the country.

Mutaz Elbadawi, Chief Commercial Officer at InterCEL said: ‘We’re delighted to announce CBNL’s landmark project with InterCEL, which will deliver the ACE fibre system’s high-speed internet to the door of thousands of businesses across the country. The network has the potential to revolutionise broadband in Guinea, helping businesses develop value added services, compete on international markets and transform their growth potential.’
