T-Mobile snaps up Vodafone’s Dutch fixed line operations

4 Nov 2016

Vodafone Netherlands is to sell its local fixed line and broadband business to T-Mobile Nederland for an undisclosed sum. Vodafone agreed to offload its consumer wireline interests as part of the conditions of its planned merger with Dutch cableco Ziggo, which was cleared by the European Commission (EC) in early August. The ‘Vodafone Thuis’ home broadband offering currently has around 150,000 subscribers, giving cellular operator T-Mobile a foothold in the Dutch market for converged fixed and wireless services. Tele2 Netherlands had also been linked as a potential buyer for Vodafone’s fixed assets.
