VIP opens LTE network to pre-paid customers

3 Nov 2016

Austrian-backed cellco Mobilkom Serbia, which offers services under the VIP Mobile brand, has opened its 4G LTE network to pre-paid customers. The cellco is offering to exchange existing pre-paid customers’ SIM cards for 4G-compatible SIM cards for free at its retail outlets. In addition, existing users and new customers that sign up before 31 January 2017 will be given free access to messaging apps Viber and Facebook Messenger for a year. VIP’s LTE network currently comprises 900 4G base stations nationwide, with the cellco expecting that number to reach 1,000 by the end of the year, by which date its footprint will cover more than 70 towns and cities.
