Dutch firm KPN has announced adjusted revenues of EUR1.71 billion (USD1.87 billion) in its Q3 2016 results, down from EUR1.76 billion the same period last year, a decrease of 3.0%. The company said the decline was due to falling revenues from traditional telco services in the Business division and lower wholesale voice revenues at its international wholesale carrier business, iBasis. Adjusted EBITDA for the third quarter rose 3.4% year-on-year from EUR640 million to EUR662 million. Net profit for the company fell dramatically, however, from EUR87 million to EUR45 million, a decrease of 48% due to EUR160 million additional finance expenses related to a bond tender. CAPEX stood at EUR265 million in Q3 2016, down 13% compared with EUR305 million the previous year.
At the end of September 2016 KPN had a total of 5.267 million ‘Consumer Mobile’ subscribers, an increase of 1.5% from 5.190 million a year earlier. The operator had a total of 3.655 million ‘Consumer Residential Households’ compared with 3.746 million in 2015, a decrease of 2.4%.
