Globacom widens 4G footprint to 16 new areas

27 Oct 2016

Globacom, Nigeria’s second largest mobile operator by subscribers, has expanded the coverage of its 4G LTE network to an additional 16 locations, following the commercial launch of the service earlier this month. The high speed data offering is now available in: Lagos State University, Ikeja, Oregun, Opebi and Isolo in Lagos; Babcock University and Redemption Camp in Ogun State; Redeemer’s University, located in Ede in Osun State; Rukpokwu, Rumuibekwe, Eleme Junction, Woji, Eliozu and Rumuigbo in Port Harcourt, Rivers State; and Mpape and Utako in Abuja.

The 16 new locations add to the eight cities that were connected to Globacom’s LTE network last week – Okada (Igbinedion University), Ekpoma (Ambrose Alli University), Bonny, Escravos, Forcados, Abraka (Delta State University), Agbor (College of Education) and Sapele (Western Delta University) – and the nine that gained access at the formal launch of the service at the start of the month (Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Jos, Warri, Eket, Benin City, Yola and Zaria).
