Claro Chile deploys its LTE-A network

21 Oct 2016

Claro Chile has rolled out its LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) service in the capital Santiago, in order to give customers living there even faster mobile internet speeds. In a press release the company said that the launch is an important step in the development of the country’s technological infrastructure, adding that the continued growth in demand for mobile data is due to the increasing use of new applications, as well as video and music streaming. The new network utilises carrier aggregation (CA) technology using the 2600MHz band and the 700MHz band, and with previous average connection levels of 20Mbps, LTE-A will increase download speeds to up to 50Mbps.

After the country’s capital city, Claro’s next stage of development is to expand its LTE-A network to the regions of Valparaiso and Biobio.
