Swedish telecoms group Tele2 has confirmed that its acquisition of TDC Sweden has been approved by the European Commission (EC) and that it will now work towards closing the transaction by the end of this month. The acquisition at an enterprise value of SEK2.9 billion (USD335 million) will strengthen Tele2’s position in the B2B segment, as TDC Sweden serves both the public sector and Swedish blue chip customers with end-to-end connectivity/communication needs, and had revenues in 2015 of SEK3.4 billion with SEK400 million EBITDA. Allison Kirkby, CEO of Tele2, commented: ‘This acquisition is consistent with our strategy to be champions of customer value for both consumers and businesses, allowing us to serve our large B2B customers with a stronger and wider range of communication and network services.’
