Zong to roll out 1,000 new 4G sites

Chinese-owned mobile provider Zong has announced plans to install an additional 1,000 4G sites across Pakistan by the end of 2016 to bring the total to around 6,000 by that date. The cellco made the announcement after completing its original 2016 rollout plan three months ahead of schedule and now expects its investment in 4G technology to cross the USD300 million threshold by the end of the year. A spokesperson for the operator said: ‘The addition of 1,000 4G sites after meeting our 4G expansion target is a huge milestone for us. It testifies our commitment to provide a stable, affordable and reliable network to our customers. We will continue to invest in 4G technology and continue to improve our services to provide a faster, wider and deeper data quality experience to the users. We will continue to invest more and execute more to be able to provide the best quality network to our subscribers.’
