Tele2 Lithuania expands 4G++ to a second city

15 Sep 2016

Tele2 Lithuania has expanded the availability of so-called ‘4G++’ technology to the city of Klaipeda, providing maximum download speeds of 350Mbps to customers with compatible devices. The high speed platform, which aggregates spectrum in the 800MHz, 1800MHz and 2600MHz frequency bands, was debuted in the capital Vilnius in December 2015 over three base transceiver stations (BTS). The Swedish-owned company also offers 4G+ coverage in 37 towns and cities, covering more than 50% of the population, having installed over 200 4G+ and 4G++ BTS across the country.

Tele2 added that its standard LTE network, launched in March 2013, covers around 99% of the population (up from 95% in March and 90% at the end of 2015) and is present in 100 towns, cities and villages.
