Mystery bidder submits non-binding offer for Omantel’s WorldCall shares

7 Sep 2016

Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) has received another non-binding offer for its shares in its Pakistani ISP division, WorldCall Telecom, Gulf News reports. The Omani group did not name the interested party or provide any further details, except that the offer was subject to further studies. As previously reported by CommsUpdate, Omantel received a non-binding offer for its 56.8% stake in WorldCall in June this year, but ended talks with the unnamed investor in August after the two parties failed to reach a favourable agreement. Whilst the identity of neither bidder has been confirmed, Allied Supplies and Services and Dunya Technologies have both been rumoured to be interested in acquiring the shares.
