Yoigo to utilise Orange Espana network from 2017

6 Sep 2016

Spain’s Yoigo has reportedly struck a deal under which it will utilise the network belonging to rival Orange Espana in areas not covered by its own infrastructure, according to Telecompaper, which cites local press outlet Expansion. The development is understood to have come about after Yoigo opted not to renew the three-year network sharing deal it struck with Telefonica Espana (Movistar) back in July 2013, ahead of its expiration this December. Notably, MasMovil, which agreed in June 2016 to acquire the majority stake in Yoigo held by Sweden’s Telia Company, already operates as an MVNO over the Orange Espana network.
