MTS group Q2 revenue up 5.3%, Russian sales climb 3.3%

Russia’s Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) has posted consolidated group revenues which grew by 5.3% year-on-year to RUB108.14 billion (USD1.70 billion) in the second quarter of 2016, whilst EBITDA fell by 4.3% to RUB40.89 billion, and consolidated net profit dropped 47.0% to RUB9.06 billion. Total revenue in Russia climbed 3.3% to RUB97.4 billion in April-June 2016, including Russian mobile service revenue, which witnessed a 0.1% increment to reach RUB72.8 billion in the quarter. The group also highlighted that revenue at MTS Ukraine grew by 13.5% y-o-y to UAH2.7 billion (USD106 million). Across the MTS group, the total active subscriber base increased by 3.5% to 109.0 million at 30 June 2016.
