State-backed Thai telco TOT is aiming to launch a non-commercial trial of 2.3GHz TD-LTE wireless broadband services on 4 August in Bangkok and Ratchaburi, using equipment from Nokia and Huawei to provide services via 20 base stations, The Nation reports. A TOT executive said that TOT had invited cellcos Advanced Info Service (AIS), Digital Total Access Communication (DTAC) and True Corp to join the trial, although the telco is waiting for a permit from the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) for using network equipment for the service.
