China Mobile and Huawei demonstrate 3.3GHz-3.4GHz TD-LTE

7 Jul 2016

China Mobile and Huawei have demonstrated what the pair claim is the first end-to-end time division duplex LTE (TD-LTE) system operating over the 3.3GHz to 3.4GHz range at the Global TD-LTE Initiative (GTI) workshop in Shanghai. The system used for the demonstration was based on Huawei’s existing commercial 3.5GHz TD-LTE products. In a joint statement, the duo noted that the 3.3GHz to 3.4GHz spectrum range was identified for IMT in November 2015, and will ‘significantly reduce the spectrum pressure on operators confronted with a huge increase in network traffic.’
