Omantel receives non-binding offer for WorldCall

Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) has received a non-binding offer for its Pakistani ISP, WorldCall Telecom, the Express Tribune reports. Allied Supplies and Services and Dunya Technologies expressed their intention to purchase 56.8% of the ordinary shares in WorldCall, and 100% of the convertible preference shares, respectively. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, WorldCall offers broadband and voice telephony services over HFC and WiLL networks. The operator claimed around 162,000 subscribers at end-March 2016, equivalent to around 5.2% of the total market.
