Hungarian telecoms firm Magyar Telekom (MTel) has expanded its LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) network, which supports maximum download speeds of 300Mbps, to a further 13 towns and cities across the country. Nyiregyhaza became the first location to benefit from MTel’s new LTE-A service at the end of last year, and since then coverage has been expanded to Bekescsaba, Debrecen, Eger, Kecskemet, Miskolc, Salgotarjan, Szeged, Szolnok, Baja, Cegled, Godollo, Beaded and Karcag, with a total of 100 LTE-A base stations installed in these locations. Overall, MTel’s 4G and 4G+ service offers outdoor coverage of 97.5% and has attracted more than 1.1 million customers.
