Haiti’s Natcom trials LTE network in Port-au-Prince

28 Jun 2016

Haitian telecoms operator National Telecom (Natcom) has revealed that it will embark on a trial of its LTE network, capable of delivering download speeds of 100Mbps, Haiti Libre reports. The operator has invited all subscribers with 4G-compatible devices to visit its branches in Petionville and Turgeau in order to obtain LTE SIM cards, which will enable them to test the network for free for a month. Natcom is currently the sole operator in Haiti authorised to trial the technology; it holds a temporary 4G concession covering six metropolitan areas of the capital Port-au-Prince: Delmas, Petionville, City Centre, Carrefour, Tabarre and Plaine du Cul-de-sac.
