UMS launches LTE in Tashkent

Universal Mobile Systems (UMS), a joint venture between the Uzbek government and Russia’s Mobile TeleSystems (MTS), has launched 4G services in Tashkent, providing peak download speeds of up to 70Mbps. The LTE network uses the 800MHz band and is available throughout the capital. 4G services are available at no extra cost for existing 3G subscribers with compatible devices and SIMs.
