TDC achieves 1Gbps speeds over mobile network

10 Jun 2016

Danish cellco TDC claims to have become ‘the first mobile network in Denmark to break through the 1Gbps barrier’ in a trial with Chinese equipment vendor Huawei, thus ‘taking a giant step towards the next generation mobile networks, 5G.’ The companies achieved the 1Gbps speeds by using three frequency bands, coupled with MIMO 4×4 technology and 256 QAM. TDC expects the technology will become commercially available during the course of 2017, once compatible devices hit the market.
