The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has received a single bid for 3G/4G compatible spectrum in the 850MHz band, the regulator announced today. Norwegian-owned cellco Telenor Pakistan was the only provider to submit an offer by the deadline, which closed yesterday. The sole concession consists of 2×10MHz at 824MHz-834MHz/869MHz-879MHz and is valid for 15 years, with a reserve price of USD395 million. In its statement, the PTA notes that on 23 May it held an ‘information session’ with prospective bidders including Mobilink, WorldCall and Multinet.
