Caricel taps Alepo for billing, charging and CRM solutions

31 May 2016

Jamaica’s prospective third mobile operator Caricel has awarded a contract to Alepo for a complete monetisation platform to support its LTE network. The vendor will supply policy and charging control (PCRF), convergent charging and billing, customer relationship management (CRM) and home subscriber server (HSS) solutions. The work is being carried out in conjunction with Alepo’s systems integration partner Comtech Telecommunications.

As reported in TeleGeography’s CommsUpdate last week, Symbiote Investments has paid USD20.8 million to acquire a wireless spectrum licence which it will use to roll out a 4G LTE service under the Caricel brand. The firm says it has already invested USD50 million and is looking to spend another USD50 million over the next three years.
