SFR launches tri-band CA LTE in Brest; 20 cities to follow by year-end

27 May 2016

French telecoms operator Numericable-SFR (SFR) has announced the launch of tri-band carrier aggregation (3C) LTE technology, offering customers in Brest maximum download speeds of 337.5Mbps. The high speed service will be expanded to Clermont-Ferrand, Dijon, Montpellier and Nantes this summer, with coverage rising to more than 20 major cities by the end of the year. The company’s 3C network is utilising spectrum in the 800MHz, 1800MHz and 2600MHz frequency bands to achieve the ultra fast data rates, while also increasing total capacity of the 4G network. SFR subscribers with a 4G data package and a compatible device (Samsung Galaxy Edge S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7) are able to access maximum theoretical speeds of 337.5Mbps at no extra cost.
