Atlantic Canada-based multi-service cableco Eastlink has indicated it is expanding its commercial 4G LTE mobile network to Ontario next month. Having launched its own mobile network in February 2013 which it has expanded cautiously across Atlantic Canadian markets including Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island (with other areas served via third-party roaming), Eastlink’s website reveals that its facilities-based mobile switch-on in Northern Ontario is imminent. Pre-registered users will initially be able to access Eastlink’s 4G service in the Timmins and Sudbury areas, the website says. The company highlights the advantages of signing up to its mobile plans as ‘lightning-fast LTE speed, savings on nationwide plans’ and ‘exceptional customer service’. Eastlink boasts that its LTE network has been named fastest network in the areas where it operates each year since its wireless launch.
