Costa Rican triple-play cableco Telecable, the country’s fourth largest ISP in user terms, has announced that an upgrade to its HFC cable broadband services based on DOCSIS 3.0 technology will be switched on next month for residential and small business subscribers, TeleSemana reports citing local daily La Republica. The operator is initially launching connections capable of 100Mbps internet speeds at 62 sites in the western sector of San Jose, including the towns of Pavas and Escazu, whilst planning to expand its presence beyond the greater metropolitan area of San Jose and reach seven provinces.
