MoD to return 150MHz of spectrum within three months

7 Jan 2016

India’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) is expected to relinquish half of its 300MHz spectrum holdings in the 1700MHz-2000MHz ranges within the next three months, the Economic Times reports, citing an official Department of Telecommunications (DoT) source. The move is part of the first phase of the DoT’s spectrum harmonisation programme, and covers 150MHz 2G, 3G and 4G-compatible spectrum in seven operating areas.
