Airtel completes Augere takeover

Bharti Airtel has completed its acquisition of 100% of Augere Wireless, the Economic Times writes. Airtel announced on 29 December that it had purchased the remaining 26% of Augere, having revealed several days earlier that it had acquired a 74% stake in the company. No financial details of the transactions were given, however. The takeover allows Airtel to add the firm’s 20MHz of 4G-suitable 2300MHz band frequencies in Madhya Pradesh to its spectrum holdings. Augere won the airwaves in 2010, but never launched services.
