T-Mobile Netherlands is to launch an over-the-top (OTT) television service with a ‘skinny bundle’ for consumers who want a basic online TV service. Telecompaper reports that T-Mobile’s ‘Knipper’ offering will offer a basic range of channels, with the consumer able to purchase additional channels on top if they wish. Users do not have to be T-Mobile cellular subscribers. The exact content and prices will be announced in the spring when the service is expected to launch, the report says. Deutsche Telekom subsidiary T-Mobile is the third largest of the four cellular network operators in the Netherlands, claiming around 20% of the country’s 18.3 million subscribers at the end of September 2015, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database.
