US telecoms giant AT&T has quietly ramped up its 4G coverage in Mexico, where it completed the dual acquisition of Iusacell and Nextel earlier this year. As such, Iusacell now boasts LTE coverage of twelve cities, namely: Atlacomulco and Toluca (Estado de Mexico); Cuernavaca and Cuautla (both Morelos); Pachuca, Tepeji and Tulancingo (all Hidalgo); Mexico City (Distrito Federal); Guadalajara (Jalisco); Huamantla (Tlaxcala); Monterrey (Nuevo Leon); and Puebla City (Puebla). Going forward, AT&T expects to cover 75 million people, or nearly two-thirds of the Mexican population, by the end of 2016, and 100 million people by the end of 2018.
