Three bids for Serbian 800MHz spectrum

16 Nov 2015

Serbia’s Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (Regulatorna Agencija za Elektronske Komunikacije i Postanske, RATEL) has announced that it has received applications for 800MHz spectrum from the nation’s three incumbent cellcos, Telenor Serbia, Telekom Srbija (now operating under the MTS brand previously used solely by its mobile arm) and VIP Mobile. All three cellcos were cleared to take part in the auction, which is scheduled to take place on 19 November 2015. Up for grabs are three 2×10MHz blocks in the 791MHz-821MHz/832MHz-862MHz range, with a starting price of EUR35 million (USD37.72 million).
