Vodafone Malta has announced that 99% of the population of Malta and Gozo can now access its 4G LTE network. The firm says it has invested over EUR10 million (USD11.3 million) to roll out the high speed technology, providing download speeds up to a theoretical 150Mbps. Vodafone says that more than 80% of the handsets it sells are 4G-capable and almost half of its internet traffic is now carried over its LTE network. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Vodafone Malta claimed around 46% of the country’s 563,000 mobile users at the end of June 2015. It is the only one of the three network operators to have introduced LTE services, launching 4G technology in November 2013.
