Vodafone Czech Republic has issued a press release marking its latest progress in the ongoing rollout of 4G LTE technology. The cellco says that following the deployment of equipment in ‘hundreds of towns and cities’ throughout the country in August, and the completion of its LTE build-out in the capital Prague, its 4G signal is now available to 92% of the population and covers 83% of the territory of the Republic. The operator notes that more than a million people living in Prague now have access to LTE with a peak download speed of up to 150Mbps and LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) at up to 225Mbps. The 4G rollout has been supported by an upgrade and modification to the backbone network to cope with increased traffic flows as users adopt ever more data-hungry multimedia services etc.
