Telekom Austria has inked a deal with the Slovakian firm ANTIK Telecom and the satellite operator Eutelsat to support the launch of a new direct-to-home (DTH) satellite TV service in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The ANTIK Sat offer will include more than 90 channels, Digital TV Europe reports, of which a third will be high definition (HD). ANTIK Sat is a joint venture between Telekom Austria and ANTIK Telecom, which already provides IPTV, voice and data services via fibre and wireless networks in Slovakia. Telekom Austria will provide platform services such as licensing, encoding, encryption and uplinking.
