KPN continues VDSL expansion

27 Aug 2015

The Dutch telco KPN has announced plans to expand its 100Mbps VDSL internet services to reach another 1.5 million households over the coming months, Telecompaper writes. The firm is already covering two million households with VDSL and plans to achieve 85% coverage of 100Mbps services by end-2016, while 70% of the population should have access to 200Mbps fibre-based connections by the same date. KPN had three million broadband subscribers and a 43% share of the high speed internet market in the Netherlands at the end of June, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database.
