Tele2 Lithuania has announced the launch of LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) services in twelve cities, providing coverage of the new network to 20% of the population. The high speed mobile data service is currently available in the cities of Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Siauliai, Panevezys, Jonava, Mazeikiai, Alytus, Marijampole, Nida, Palanga and Sventosios. Meanwhile, Tele2’s LTE network, which was launched in March 2013, is present in more than 60 towns and cities, covering over 80% of the population, with coverage set to increase to around 90% by the end of the year. Tele2 Lithuania’s LTE and LTE-A network currently consists of around 500 base stations.
