Claro Ecuador joins rivals in LTE market

31 Jul 2015

America Movil subsidiary Claro Ecuador (Conecel) has launched commercial LTE mobile services, joining its two cellular rivals CNT and Movistar Ecuador in the 4G market. At launch, Claro’s LTE network covers the capital Quito and largest city Guayaquil, plus Samborondon (adjacent to Guayaquil), utilising the 2×20MHz AWS (1700MHz/2100MHz) frequencies it bought earlier this year. Claro’s portfolio of LTE supported devices includes at least ten handsets from Samsung, Apple, Sony, Huawei and Nokia.
