C Spire Wireless doubles 4G bandwidth across Mississippi

22 Jul 2015

Mississippi-based C Spire Wireless has announced that it has doubled the bandwidth available across much of its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, resulting in faster downlink speeds and better overall coverage for consumers. The improvements were completed in the last six months and are part of the company’s ‘Covered in Blue’ network enhancement programme, which it claims has improved average mobile broadband speeds by 71%.

In the last six months the company has doubled the wireless spectrum available on 604 of its 681 4G base transceiver stations (BTS) in Mississippi, boosted power on 397 cell sites and expanded LTE coverage to 115 new BTS, along with myriad other improvements to routers, switches, processors and cell site equipment, all of which has been designed to enhance overall network performance.
