Cable & Wireless Communications (C&W) Barbados has announced an investment budget of USD160 million following its recent announcement that it will be the first of the UK-backed group’s divisions to switch its retail quadruple-play branding from ‘LIME’ to the ‘Flow’ brand of its newly merged subsidiary Columbus Communications. Country manager Niall Sheehy, quoted by TeleSemana, said that the enlarged company aims to connect ‘100%’ of Barbados with fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) infrastructure enabling next generation telephony, TV/video, broadband internet and other data services. He added that the investment project is the ‘…product of two legacies working together to meet the needs of our customers.’ Sheehy also noted that, despite the previously announced rebrand to Flow, the LIME brand will continue to exist for a period during the migration of all products and services. C&W Barbados has also moved into its new corporate headquarters and on 1 August will officially transition its main customer care centre to a new flagship retail store under the Flow brand for all products and services of the combined entities.
