ANCOM releases minimum prices for 3.4GHz-3.8GHz licensing

15 Jul 2015

Romania’s telecoms regulator ANCOM has issued for public comments the draft decision establishing the minimum licensing fees for the 3410MHz-3800MHz frequency band and payment terms in the upcoming competitive selection procedure. The minimum fee (starting price) for 2×5MHz blocks in the 3.4GHz-3.6GHz band nationwide is set at EUR370,000 (USD407,000), while the cost is set at EUR185,000 for unpaired 5MHz blocks in the 3.6GHz-3.8GHz band. The auction will make available 16 2×5MHz licences plus 36 unpaired 5MHz blocks, with ten-year concession periods to start 1 January 2016.

The four current licence holders in the 3410MHz-3600MHz band are Orange, Vodafone, UPC and 2K Telecom (Idilis), whilst the sole 3600MHz-3800MHz licence holder is Radiocom (National Radiocommunications Company, SNR).
