TELE Greenland to offer wholesale data services from 1 August

8 Jul 2015

TELE Greenland has revealed that it has completed its reference interconnection offer (RIO) for alternative operators willing to offer fixed data services over its networks, following a ‘very comprehensive analysis of the costs for data and internet services’. According to a press release, other operators will be able to offer fixed data connections on the same terms as TELE from 1 August 2015.

Greenland’s market for fixed data services, including internet services via wired infrastructure, was opened up to competition on 1 November 2014, with a government decision dated 12 September 2014. Following the enactment of the decree, the Consumer and Competition Authority invited interested parties to apply for authorisations for the provision of data services via cable telecoms structure.
