O2 Czech launches Air Internet with 92% household coverage

23 Jun 2015

Fixed and mobile operator O2 Czech Republic has announced the launch of a new wireless broadband service, Air Internet, providing connectivity to homes across the country – including many that currently do not have access to O2’s fixed line network. The operator says the new service is available to 92% of households and uses its 4G LTE network to deliver download speeds of up to 20Mbps. Air Internet is not tethered to one specific location and can be used at home, or when on holiday in the country. ‘O2 Air Internet is ideal for areas with unstable and slow Wi-Fi connection or in areas where there is no hard wired internet connection. With a fourth generation network, we can offer customers the fastest wireless internet service of its type,’ says David Duron, director of marketing for the group’s household division.

O2 is providing the Huawei B890 LTE modem with Air Internet, priced at CZK2,376 (USD99.2) or CZK99 per month over two years. The monthly rental fee is CZK499.
