Movistar to spend USD2bn over next two years

11 Jun 2015

Spanish-owned full service provider Movistar Peru is set to invest around USD2 billion during 2015-2017, the operator’s chairman, Cesar Alierta, confirmed earlier this week during a meeting with Prime Minister Pedro Cateriano. With the spending, Movistar says it will ‘lead the digital revolution’ in Peru, through the construction of new infrastructure and by taking care of customers’ needs. Mr Alierta pointed out that Movistar has invested more than USD8.5 billion in the country over the last 20 years, to ‘bring the best and latest technology to people, businesses and government, encouraging innovation and improving productivity.’
