Kyivstar’s 3G network going commercial on 8 June

Ukraine’s largest cellco by users Kyivstar has revealed that its new 3G W-CDMA/HSPA+ network will begin commercial operations in Lviv on 8 June (including the Lviv suburbs Dublyany and Malekhov), followed by a commercial launch in metropolitan Kiev and the surrounding Kiev region on 16 June. Kyivstar is the second of the three recent 2100MHz UMTS licence winners to launch commercial 3G services, following Astelit (life:)) last month, with MTS Ukraine also preparing its W-CDMA/HSPA+ launch in the near future, as pilots continue in various cities.
