Donetsk People’s Republic testing new network

29 May 2015

The self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR or DNR) in eastern Ukraine claims to be planning the launch of its own mobile network by the end of this summer, according to a report by Russian news agency RIA Novosti cited by IT Expert. The unrecognised republic’s communications minister Victor Yatsenko was quoted as saying that: ‘The first SIM card of our operator [has been] released. Now they are working in a narrow test mode. We expect that by the end of the summer the DNR mobile operator will work at full capacity.’
