NTT Com’s Arcstar Universal One Virtual platform goes global

27 May 2015

NTT Corp of Japan’s ICT solutions and international communications business, NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), has announced the global launch of Arcstar Universal One Virtual, a platform which it says allows users ‘to easily create, use and control overlay networks on-demand via existing corporate networks or the internet using software-defined network (SDN) virtual technology’. In a press release, NTT Com confirmed that Arcstar Universal One Virtual is now available in 27 countries, including twelve in the Asia-Pacific region, eleven in the European Union, Middle East and Africa, and four in the Americas. The company says its global switch-on was facilitated by the launch of new Arcstar Universal One Virtual platforms on the East Coast of the United States and in the United Kingdom, joining existing platforms in Japan, to enable customers to choose the best platform for the shortest latency. Additional platforms will be established on the US West Coast, Hong Kong and Singapore (sometime after July 2015).
